 KPL NEWS

On a scale from Usain Bolt to Mach 10, the KPL media team sits comfortably at the speed of

light, delivering you, are most valued fans, news as it happens regardless of the circumstances.

Today’s coverage is fresh off the press and delivered to inboxes and social sources worldwide.

Let’s get into it.

Day three of KPL Sicily here in beautiful Marsala, Italy, was yet again another incredible day for

riding and competing. The morning began early with the men’s semifinals that qualified both Eric

Rienstra and Xander Raith into finals alongside Ewan Jaspan, Maxime Chabloz, Ramiro Gallart,

and Noe Font. After the men’s semifinals, the women took to the water to compete in their final

and determine the podium positioning. Katie Potter, Karolina Winkowska, and Lauren Holman

pieced together beautifully calculated lines across the Knot Future corrugated pipes and the We

Ride Local Incline Rail, accompanied by a myriad of flips, spins, and grabs off of the Duotone

kicker. Currently, results have been concealed from both the riders and the public and will

remain under guarded surveillance until the awards ceremony tomorrow night when we crown

our female podium finishers.

Shortly after the women made their way off of the water, the flag dropped, and the men’s final

was underway. Unfortunately, the men were unable to finish the entirety of the final but are

expected to conclude the event tomorrow during what is forecasted to be another pristine day of

Mediterranean thermals and sunshine.

For those who would like to take part in the awards ceremony, please join us tomorrow evening

at the Duotone Pro Center Sicily for a cold beverage and a great time. For those who are unable

to attend, our social channels will be buzzing with live updates and media coverage.

Kite Park League Sicily concludes tomorrow, and the final’s anticipation is through the roof.

More to come. Stay tuned, stay invigorated, and enjoy your weekend.

Ciao for now,

KPL

And… we’re back. Day two of competition has officially been logged, and the countdown to

finals has begun. For day two of KPL Sicily, the second and third-seeded riders from each heat

converged for a semifinal that will send the top two riders into finals. Semifinalist qualifiers

include Mateo Dorotini, Tom Seager, Nico Gilomen, Tom Bridge, Xander Raith, Eric Rienstra,

Gianmaria Coccoluto, and Alexander Lewis-Hughes.

The morning began in quintessential fashion with a very light sea breeze that trended upwards

as the day’s heat gave traction to steady Sicilian thermals. By noon, the park was in the water,

the judges prepared for analysis, and the riders eagerly waited for their time of evaluation. The

heat began with the (left-foot-forward) line, which included the Knot Future up-to-flat corrugated

pipes and the We Ride Local red incline rail (The Red Beast.) For those unfamiliar with the term

“line,” its reference comes directly from other board sports and is defined as doing more than

one maneuver in succession. The objective of implementing a “line” is to demonstrate

consistency and control while also embracing a more complex standard that is an inherent

cornerstone within board-sport industries. More often than not, performing tricks consecutively is

much more difficult than performing a singular trick, and from an analytical perspective,

especially within a contest setting, performing a “line” often exposes significant contrast

between each rider. However, despite the innate intricacy of performing a “line,” the semifinalists

did not disappoint, and each rider navigated their way through the course with distinct intent and

flavoring.

After the (left-foot-forward) line, the group moved onto the (right-foot-forward) Duotone kicker

and were able to squeeze what was left of the wind before a storm front rolled through and

disrupted the thermals. As a result of the inclement wind and weather, event staff made the

executive decision to postpone the remainder of the event and wait for more favorable

conditions. Currently, semifinalists are expected to complete their heat during tomorrow’s

gloriously optimistic forecast, which will be directly followed by the women’s and men’s finals.

Here we go, the moment you have all been waiting for. Who will advance? Who will stand

defeated, and who will take it all? Anyone can eat, but not all can cook. Tomorrow we crown the

chefs and applaud the patrons. Fire the entrees…

Yours truly,

KPL

What’s long, hard, and sometimes wet? That’s right, the red We Ride Local Incline tube and

quite possibly the most eloquent rail to ever grace the kiteboarding industry. Welcome to the

KPL Sicily course overview.

For the second stop of the 2023 tour, the course consists of a Duotone kicker, Knot Future

corrugated pipes, an entry-level box, and the crown jewel, a pristine, custom-fabricated up-tube

distinguished by the principal contractor as “The Red Beast.” One of the most distinct facets that

naturally accompanies most board-oriented sports, such as snowboarding and skateboarding, is

the commanding visual intrigue that it draws, often curating a scene of intense precision

juxtaposed with minimalistic characteristics. For example, if you have ever gazed down a snow-

blanked park or watched skateboarders meticulously grind down street rails, the visual

presentation of these features is of a relatively fundamental design, which helps draw direct

attention to the rider as opposed to the feature itself. In an effort to grasp these prevalent

standards, for KPL Sicily, the park is largely constructed to illustrate minimalistic beauty as

opposed to large and obscure obstacles. The kicker is carved to perfection, and the red tube

has been referred to by critics worldwide as a “sculpture fit for the gods.” With this constructive

particularity in mind, we hope you, our loyal fans, can continue to enjoy the efforts executed by

the Kite Park League and its riders as we all continue climbing the ladder to stardom.
